“Quality of volunteering” European Conference in AthensThe 3rd EU-level thematic conference for the European Year of Volunteering 2011 will take place on 3 and 4 November in Athens. The conference will look at the world of volunteering through the eyes of the volunteering organizations, and will examine issues that are important to them. Participants will have the possibility to share experiences of volunteering organisations and to learn from them, as well as to explore possible next steps to support the further development of volunteering in Europe.
One highlight will be the interview with Ms Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, and Ms Damanaki, Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. Up to 200 participants are expected in Athens, mainly from the volunteering NGOs from all fields, but also from business and the National Coordinating Bodies (as representatives of the Member States' authorities). From P.A.U. Education, operating the overall EYV2011 Campaign and its implementation across Europe, Sabine Schumann will be on site in Athens. |
