The Norauto Foundation wishes to highlight the work of the organisations who have received an award between 2002 and 2010. The first three most dedicated ones will win a ‘special 10 year award’ for their entire work on road safety.

An independent panel of European experts, from institutional and scientific bodies and associations, will meet the day before to analyse the candidates’ files and identify the awardees according to a number of criteria including: exemplary virtues, real impacts, potential for on-going development and originality.

Within the jury, Martine Aitken represents P.A.U. Education, which is the operator of the European Road Safety Charter (a European Commission initiative). Her experience as Coordinator of the ERSC and as an observer in the United Nation Road Safety Collaboration enables her to accurately analyse the presented activities, together with the other judges. Among them there will be:Jean-Yves Salaünfrom the FrenchAssociation Prévention Routière, Michel Vilboisfrom the Direction de la Sécurité et de la Circulation Routières, Åsa Ersson from theSwedish Road Administration and José Ignacio Lijarcio Cárcel from INTRAS.

“I highly value my participation in the panel of judges. It is always interesting to analyse in details the activities of quite different associations. It is also a great responsibility to decide the winners, when you know how important this funding can be for the continuation of the activities. The awardees’ excitement when they are nominated is a fantastic reward for the hard work that Norauto Foundation is doing for this purpose.” Martine Aitken.
