BBVA’s Future Values AwardsThe second edition of BBVA’s Project “Future Values. Money in our lives” has come to an end. P.A.U. Education has created and implemented this project, which has as main objective to strengthen financial education among children aged 6 to 14 in skills and values associated to the use of money. In this past edition, which also extended to Portugal, up to 680,000 children from 3,600 schools participated in the programme.
In 2011 programme, P.A.U. Education created the chance of choosing among 56 different participating workshops, 4 of action-drama and debate; each teacher can choose those workshops that match better the classroom needs. In the Primary School category, the jury chose 17 winners, one of each Autonomous Community of Spain. All of them celebrated in their schools the “1000 and One Values Day” during which they were visited by local politicians and members of BBVA. On this celebration day, students exhibited their winning works. The day culminated in a football match that promoted team work and respect for the rival above all. For secondary schools, there was also a national final. The school IES Comercio from Logroño was awarded as Spain’s champion. Creativity and reflective skills guided the jury’s decision to decide the winners. Team work is also paramount in this project that has arrived to all sort of schools: public, private, in areas with risk of social exclusion, etc. Thus, “Future Values” has also become a showcase of inclusive practices that all awarded centres practice. In September 2011, P.A.U. Education once again retook the reins of the project for its new 2011-2012 edition. |
