Project details

The Digital Agenda for Europe (D.A.E.) is one of the seven flagship initiatives of Europe 2020 strategy set out by the European Commission. It is a provoking and ambitious initiative, which sets out to define the key-enabling role that the use of ICT will have to play if Europe wants to succeed in its ambitions for 2020.
D.A.E.’s actions concern many actors and therefore requires active involvement of various stakeholders, including ICT sector companies, a wide range of other industries and non-governmental organizations active in fields impacted by ICT (such as health, transport, energy, culture etc.), governments and local authorities, as well as potentially all citizens.
P.A.U. Education is responsible for implementing an innovative ‘online stakeholder engagement’ plan, in collaborating with a select group of high level experts, lead by David Osimo and Laia Pujol (Tech4i2). We will be using various social media and online tools such as ‘uservoice’ and ‘debategraph’) to animate and create dialogue between stakeholders and policy makers across Europe and ultimately assess and influence European, national and regional policy through ideas and feedback coming directly from the stakeholders themselves.
D.A.E. actions are supported and monitored through various governance mechanisms, including the annual D.A.E. Assembly.
The 'going local' visits and P.A.U. Education will be both involved in designing the overall strategy of the stakeholder engagement as well as in its on-going implementation, with the following main goals:
• Assess progress on D.A.E. goals and actions;
• Identify challenges ahead;
• Stimulate stakeholders' commitment to make further progress and address challenges.
